Buying Cards
Browse the Marketplace tab, click any card to see details and comparable sales, then click Buy. Your payment is held in escrow until the transaction is confirmed. For vault-held cards, ownership transfers immediately. For shipped cards, funds release once you confirm receipt.
We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover). Apple Pay and Google Pay are coming soon. We do not accept crypto, Venmo, or PayPal.
All purchases are covered by GEMLINE's buyer protection. If a card is materially misrepresented (wrong grade, fake cert number, significantly different from photos), file a dispute within 7 days of receipt. We'll review and issue a refund if validated. Escrow ensures your money is protected until you confirm satisfaction.
Every listing shows a price range based on recent real sales from eBay and Whatnot. We use a weighted algorithm that accounts for recency (recent sales matter more) and filters out outliers. Click "See comps" on any listing to view the actual sales data backing the price.
Selling & Listing
Go to Portfolio → Add Card → search for your card in the catalog → add it with your cost basis. Then click "List for Sale" on the card in your portfolio. Set your price — we'll show you real eBay sold comps to guide your pricing. Your listing goes live immediately.
GEMLINE charges a 10% fee on completed sales, deducted from the sale price before payout. There are no listing fees — you only pay when you sell. Boost credits to promote your listings are optional and sold separately.
For vault-held cards, payment is released to your account within 1 business day of a completed sale. For shipped cards, payment is released after the buyer confirms receipt or 7 days after confirmed delivery (whichever is first). Payouts go to your connected bank account via Stripe.
No. GEMLINE is a marketplace for cards you own. Selling cards you don't possess violates our Terms of Service and will result in account suspension. If you're waiting on a grading return, wait until you have the card in hand before listing.
Auctions & Bidding
Sellers set a starting bid, an optional reserve price, and a duration (1 hour to 7 days). Bidders place bids — each bid must be at least 5% higher than the current bid. When the timer ends, the highest bidder wins and the transaction completes through escrow. If the reserve wasn't met, the seller isn't obligated to sell.
Yes. Placing a bid is a binding commitment to purchase at that price if you win. Backing out of a winning bid without a valid reason (item not as described, seller unable to fulfill) will result in a negative mark on your account and possible suspension.
Shill bidding means bidding on your own listings (or having friends/family do it) to artificially inflate the price. This is strictly prohibited. GEMLINE monitors bidding patterns and will permanently ban accounts found shill bidding. Any completed sales involving shill bids will be reversed.
P2P Trades
Go to the Trades tab and click "Propose a Trade." Select which cards from your portfolio you're offering and which cards you want in return. You can add cash to either side to balance the deal. GEMLINE shows you the fair value of both sides based on real market data so you can see if the trade is equitable before sending.
Yes, you can cancel any outgoing trade offer that hasn't been accepted yet. Go to Trades → Outgoing → Cancel. Once a trade is accepted by the other party, it cannot be cancelled and is considered final.
Card Verification
When a seller enters their PSA cert number on a listing, GEMLINE adds a verification link directly to PSA's registry at psacard.com. Buyers can click the link to independently confirm the card's grade, player, and authenticity directly on PSA's website. This is more trustworthy than eBay, where sellers self-report grades with nothing to back them up.
Yes. When listing, select BGS or SGC from the grader dropdown and enter your cert number. The listing will link to Beckett's or SGC's cert lookup page for buyer verification. PSA, BGS, SGC, and CGC are all supported.
